CWRU Law Faculty Scholarship Update (SSRN)

Since the last update in February, 2012, CWRU Law faculty have posted twenty articles on Case Research Paper Series in Legal Studies on SSRN.

Prof. Ruqaiijah Yearby posted an article on racial bias and health care reform and another article on racial disparities in health care and health status.

Prof. Juscelino Colares added an article on WTO adjudication and another article on European Union conformity review in France.

Prof. Paul Giannelli contributed articles on confronting experts under federal rule 703, and he produced a literature review of the National Academy of Science’s 2009 Forensic Science Report.

Prof. Cassandra Burke Robertson posted articles on social media and civil litigation and interlocutory review in appellate litigation.

Prof. Jessie Hill published articles on medical decision making by adolescents and the definitions of “medical necessity” and “essential health benefits” under the Affordable Care Act.

Prof. Sharona Hoffman added an article on drug-drug interactions, building on her ongoing scholarship in medicine and the law.

Prof. Lewis Katz published an article on driving without the Fourth Amendment, also building upon his extensive corpus of criminal law scholarship over the years.

Finally, and fittingly, Profs. Erik Jensen and Jonathan Adler, the Case Research Papers Series in Legal Studies faculty editors, each contributed several papers (of varying length) during the past four months. Prof. Jensen wrote articles on taxation authority, the individual mandate, tax avoidance, and tributes to retiring colleagues. Prof. Adler wrote articles on pollution, interstate competition, and water rights.

And, as we await the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on the Affordable Care Act, don’t forget the multi-media discussion on March 26 between Profs. Hill and Adler.
